Racing to Find a Cure for MS

In addition to running an environmentally responsible company, we care about giving back to the community.

Each year Hume sponsors the Race to End MS initiative organized to raise funds for the MS Society of Canada  and this year the Red Door Women’s Shelter here in Toronto.  Over the past eight years we have worked hard and raised over $180,000 for MS research.

Months of planning, paperwork and preparation go into to getting ready for a road rally like Targa Newfoundland. This marathon of a race is one of only three like it in the world. We run 46 races over five days in September, covering 1,600 kilometers of winding Newfoundland roads paved with nature’s beauty and flanked by the glorious Atlantic Ocean.

We currently race four cars in the event. We are proud to say we have earned Many 1st, 2nd and 3rd place podium finishes in this event over the past eight years. Every year you can follow our progress daily by logging onto our website

It is important to note the charitable sector in Canada has become challenged financially and is more competitive today than ever before. Since it’s founding in 1948, the core support of the MS Society has been from tens of thousands of dedicated individuals, companies and foundations in communities across Canada. The Society receives almost no funding from government. Same goes for the Red Door.

We at Hume expense a great deal of our own capital and time each year preparing for and participating in this event. However, 100% of all funds collected from our donors and sponsors are given to MS Canada.

Help Hume in our race to end MS!
